It Was The Summer of 07

See ya later, Summer. Try not to be so brutal next August.

It's weird to feel like summer can be just as oppresive as winter. I've never felt that way until I felt a good, midwest, humid, hot, summer. (I'm hearing a guffaw from my sister. "You haven't felt humid heat until you live in Texas. You haven't eaten real Mexican until you live in Texas. You haven't seen bugs the size of your head until you live in Texas. :) Just kidding, Koryn, love ya!) But what's not to love about summer, especially this summer. How many adults get over a month off to just play--no worries, no work. I want to start a countdown to the next break like this, but I think it would be something like 2,125 days. Would that bore you?

This morning: pants pressed, white coat clean, pocket PC in pocket, cell ringer off. Party's over, folks. J's back to school. Usually I feel guilty as he leaves to work his buns off and we stay home and play. But not this time. His first rotation is obstetrics. Hello! He gets to go have my favorite day over and over and over. I'm so excited for him to really be in the hospitals now, they're going to love him.

Now it's 8:15--breakfast is cleaned up, beds are made, scripture study done, we're both dressed. Now what? Abbey's playing with a box of change on the floor, I'm obviously blogging. We've gotta get this figured out now it's just the two of us.

But for now, here's my farewell to a great summer.

Ironic that I nearly passed out and my body was LITERALLY shuddering as a coworker explained her birthing class yesterday - to the point that I seriously considered adopting every baby. And YOU are posting about how it was your favorite day ever. Oh no ... please excuse me, I need to put my head between my knees...

Welcome back to reality-----I'm so sorry you have to come back! I'm glad J will finally get to experience time actually doing what he's been learning---this is what made the first 2 years worth all the work for Shawn. Hope you and A figure out how to be just 2 again, what an awesome city to get to do it in!

Al, you are the only person who is more uncomfortable with medical procedures than me. Ok, Dad probably is on your level as well. And I would go through birth three times over getting blood drawn even once. Helloooo, epidurals.... And you get something awesome as a reward.

Abbey's swimming suit is the cutest I've ever seen! I love your designs Ashley, you're a natural! You're so creative. Good luck with rotations!

Then you haven't seen her little blue swimsuit! It is even more cute. Good luck with your fellowship this year, it's weird you won't graduate with us. But this will be a nice year for your family and awesome experience for him.

That picture of Abbey is classic. I am with you on the whole drawing blood thing. But then again, you and I must have had easy labors. But who wouldnt it they had the great and glorious spinal shot?

ah, congrats Justin on back to school! You look very happy, and very "professional." What a good wife you have to get all those clothes ironed and lookin' nice.

I love that last pic of Abbey in the water.. Precious. Are those your feet in the top pic?

Ash, what is an "osteopathic doctor?" Inform me the clueless. I guess I can google or wikipedia it. Gotta love wikipedia. My favorite

Good wife...yes... Ha! He ironed his own clothes! He usually irons my church clothes for me as well cause I'm running late. And no, not my feet. I wish. Those were some little girls I was babysitting one day this summer.

LOL!!!!! I just figured YOU ironed them.... creases down the front, not a single wrinkle... Dan would never think to iron his clothes that intricately. That makes me laugh. Way to go J. Come over and give Dan a lesson on ironing
