Winter Retreat

Photobucket

All I want to do these days is practice the piano and play ping pong. I found some beautiful, challenging pieces for the former and I've been schooling J in the latter. And anyone who thinks he may be letting me win does not know him well!

Winter blues? I don't know, I don't think so. I have no desire to leave the house and that is unusual. But I'm thinking it's more of a winter-embracement. I am pretty content these days (although my sister would tell you otherwise after she had to talk me down off the proverbial ledge Saturday morning).

Throw in some hot cocoa, soup, and warm bread, and you just might not be seeing much of us until the spring thaw! I can hold out as long as the kids can :)

Love the picture! =) I often feel this way - sometimes it's hard to kick, but it's worth kicking. =)

Can I hibernate with you? It seems warm and fuzzy there (in spite of Saturday a.m. rantings of the totally normal mom sort.)

It's just so cool that
1. I even know you
2. you call me a friend.

You're too cool :)
These pictures are amazing.
Also, have you had anyone rip off pics of your girls yet? I think you need to start watermaking them because someone is going to. You're going to see a pic on a 20' x 50' billboard in Time Square or something and be like, "hey that's my daughter!"

Much better attitude than I usually possess with the Utah inversion at it's peak. (like right now.)

Hot Cocoa is on our top 10 list at the moment. What would we do without it, and of course, Dora the Explorer.

Keep that mood rolling.

Ooo, that is EXACTLY what I want at this very second--a nice BIG mug of hot chocolate...thanks for the inspiration, Abbey. :)

I found your blog through a google search for painted pianos. I am about to paint ours but I am bit scared to start. I was wondering if you could give me a few tips on what worked well for you and what didn't. Did you use a paint sprayer or a brush/roller. And HOW did you paint around the keys?
Thanks so much,
Melissa

I feel ya! When the winter starts to feel a little long I like to stay in too, there always seems to be a lot to do at home. Then I start to feel a little stir crazy. So this week we bROke out! We did lunch with my sister, an aquarium trip. I just have to find the balance! Miss you guys.
