Withdrawals

I have a hard time when company leaves. I have never, ever felt like I was ready to have my guests go home. Even when we lived in our little condo and were climbing over each other to breathe.

J was MIA this weekend. I felt bad he didn't get to see my parents much, but it was nice for me to escape single parenthood for a few days. I definitely show and feel love through acts of service, it was great to have them here to experience both. Thanks for making the trip, I love you guys. And miss you a LOT.

{edit to add: i just noticed abbey's pulling the exact same pose in the first two pictures--it's like someone just switched out her prop}

By the way, is that McQueen's Apple Orchard?

I think you also show love through your photographs. That last one is making me cry. How beautiful! Thanks. (Not for making me cry. No thanks for that.)

I love your parents. I can't wait to see mine again. Only visitor we have had so far is Devin and I cried a bit saying goodbye to him, he was a little piece of home. Gorgeous photo's, as usual!

I LOVE apple-picking! What a treat to go with your parents. I'm sure they loved every minute of their stay. It IS always hard to let them go back home. It's like you want to hold them hostage or something. :) I love how your mom is reaching for Abbey in the last pic. I also love how Hayden is looking in the bag, even though she has a donut in her and (and a few at her side :). Beautiful pics, Ash.

LOVE your photos (as always).
LOVE your parents (I miss them!).
LOVE your beautiful girls!!!

MISS YOU!!! (Oh, and I kind of dropped my cell phone in the bath a day or so after you called, so I don't have your number....I'd love to talk and catch up. It's been forever!)

Cute pictures, cute parents. I miss the Furniss's too! Are you going home for Christmas this year??

Don't you just love Mom's smile? That last shot of her reaching for Abbey has the most beautiful smile from Mom. I understand that even though you may have considered the hostage taking idea, Hayden really did try to hold Dad's lap hostage for the weekend. Darling. Just wish we could all be together for the apple picking, projects extraordinaire, and smiles. Are you coming home for Christmas?

that first picture got me all choked up. it almost looks posed. beautiful.
it is wonderful to see your parents loving your own kids.

how is the piano going?

Ashley said...

It was meant to be posed, the girls just weren't into looking at the camera and my parents weren't paying attention at that point :) The piano is great, for some reason I play it a lot more now that it is blue! But my piano bench is still drying...it's been a week. It's cold here!
