Real World: Midwest

My life is a mess. We move from one mess to the next. And whatever I let them get away with to do 30 minutes of cleaning usually results in 20 more minutes of cleaning. I know it's nothing new. Every mom sings the same song. It just gets old sometimes.

I have no one to blame but myself for some of them. Like today. You'd think I'd learn not to put a heaving spoonfull of pureed squash in front of my baby's mouth as she's about to sneeze.

Whoops.

And in the background: Abbey's 'drawing' with oranges on the table.

When asked to stop she said,
"It makes me happy. Happy like a flower."
Can't argue with that. Draw on, child. I'll deal with it later.

Heh, heh, heh! That is what I find myself doing each time I read this mommy posts. Not "heh" in a maniacal way, just so true, so true sister.

Everything is sticky. And what is up with poking food? I love that Abbey is happy like a flower. :) Cute.

I love the drawing with food. Gabriel does that already, only I think he's "cleaning" with the food. Either way, it's a sticky mess.

Oh, the joys of motherhood... Yesterday I was putting away the broom and thought to myself, "Wow, I won't have to get this out again until at least Friday!" Yeah right...

Seriously I thought that is why we had food is to play with it and entertain. Is there another reason for food?
