A Pretty Picnic

Photobucket

The girls and I hit the road after church yesterday and spent the afternoon in the shadows of the Kirtland temple. It was a bit of a drive and there were a few reasons not to go, but one big reason to make sure it happened.

My little sis was visiting her in-laws for the weekend. The last few weeks have been a drastic mix of emotions for the Furniss clan and I think we all are feeling a strong need to be together. And I needed to see she was ok. This girl is incredible. I am completely amazed at her strength and maturity. Oh, it felt good to be with family. Thanks, Mom Riley, for spotting me some toll booth cash to get home :) It was a pleasure to spend the day with you guys.

Happy Pretty Monday

Kirtland is so beautiful and just up the road from us...... so worth the drive. I hope your sister is ok: she's beautiful, just like you!

This is so beautiful. It's like you took the image right off a painting canvas. I love it. I'm glad you guys had such a great time!

Your visit was EXACTLY what I needed. I know I didn't get to say anything sappy when you left so we wouldn't bawl :), but honestly, it means so, so much that you drove five hours to spend five hours with us. (Oy, when I put it that way - why DID you do it?!)

I love that we're all able to stake our claim on different regions and call various areas of this beautiful country home for now - but man, I sure miss my wonderful family. Thanks for coming!
