The Worst Possible Thing

Granted, there could be worse things that happen three days before elective (i.e. audition) rotations. But this has got to be in the top five:

We've been pushing hard this week to get in a lot of playing before he leaves. We have most of the ward hooked on volleyball now and J or I (or both) have played every night this week. Then Thursday Night Basketball...who can resist? Not my hubby. He thinks his broken thumb was punishment for spending so much time apart in our last week together. And now he's at the Missou, Illinois game. :) But...who can resist? No really. That wasn't sarcastic, I was excited for him to be able to go.

I wanted to get a good family picture before Justin leaves us for two months to go out on these rotations. The girls could not have been LESS cooperative. How do people catch good family pictures?!?!

We did get a few that I loved but they were of just the girls or just Justin and Hayden.

For some reason when it came time for all of us...Abbey would smile, Hayden would scream and vice versa. This was as close as we got as Abbey was storming off to find her buddy at the playground :)

Oh man... I have been taking LOTS of family photos lately, and it is BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS. Painful. Agonizing. So please know your girls are normal. SOOO normal.

And the pics you did manage are REALLY cute and you look hot. And that last one? well, it preserves a reality far more honestly than any posed picture could do. :)

Ow, that little cast will probably make it difficult to intibate someone. I love the family picture. I think it needs to be framed and hung on the wall. Abbey is soooo cute---even storming off to do as she pleases.

Too cute! Even if you didn't get the pics you wanted and it was difficult, the pics you posted are adoreable! Your family is so cute! Too bad about J's hand! Hope it feels better soon!! Good luck with him being gone for so long!

We haven't even attempted a family photo, ever, so good for you for trying. Both pictures are way cute, I love how Abby is running off. Sorry Justin's hand is hurt, that sucks.

poor j. we hope you recover fast! where is he leaving for rotations? his accident brought back the sad memory of seeing poor John Catron all bandaged up when he got his fingers chopped off by the lawn mower..right as Austin was a newborn. Not the best timing either, so it could be worse:) that sucks though.

btw, a brown recluse? you're so justified in your hormones. i'd be a basket case too:)

btw #2, hayden's chubber of cheeks are SOOO cute!!!! when exactly are you coming to utah? i have to meet that girl.

Sounds like your husband may be ALMOST as accident prone as my husband. I have almost banned John from church sports because he comes home injured everytime. We cant resist them though, they are just too much fun.

I think its soo cool you two are volleyball fanatics now. What a great sport, its my favorite sport to play and almost my favorite to watch now considering how awesome the USA did in the Olympics.

My family pics turn out just like yours do. Its impossible to take a pic of everyone looking good. But then again, I always try to take the pics myself (with a tripod). Maybe I should just have someone take them for me. Good luck with it all.

It seemed so much easier getting family pictures when there was only one baby/child that needed to smile and look at the camera. When there's two...it seems impossible. I hate to think of what if will be like with three! I love Abbey's expression in the last picture. It's what we're all thinking when we have to smile and get our pictures taken...

Oh, you guys are so adorable! And I absolutley love the candid picture at the bottom of Abbey running off. That girl has quite the personality and mind of her own. So cute!!

That stinks about the thumb! But your family pictures are adorable. I think the best to hope for is always a more candid shot. YOu know, not everyone has to be looking! Also, I love abbey's little facial expression, that's exactly how I feel after church:)

That is so cute! :) I feel your frustration - I swear, we haven't had a family shot in SO LONG. Abbey is absolutely beautiful. I'm sure you already realize that. :) She definitely gets it from her Mommy.
