True Aggies

I absolutely love this time of year, it reminds of going back to school. I rate pretty high on the nerd scale because I love school. College was such a great time of life. I always had good roomies and good friends. Living off no sleep and no vegetables, I don't know how. I guess you just live off excitement and youthful energy. I love the first week of school when everyone's excited to be back and hangs around campus to catch old friends and enjoy the nice weather. Everyone's in their new fall digs, everyone has their new backpacks with fresh pens and binders perfectly organized and tabbed. Ok, maybe that was just me. Roommates are still nice to each other because you don't know each other that well and haven't been annoyed yet by messy bathrooms and kitchens. The band was always practicing as I would walk home in the afternoon. Another nerd alert--I love marching bands. It was like having my own theme music as I walked along.

I met Justin the first day of my sophmore year and the intense crush began. He dated these gorgeous, little blondies and I knew he was out of my league. But it didn't help the situation that he was always with the apartment of boys across the hall. I shamelessly flirted with everyone but him. I guess to get his attention, I don't know. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Hey, I was 19 and oblivious, what can you do? Luckily one night the stars were aligned just right and we stopped being so immature. After that it was a no-fuss, no-drama courtship. What a fun year with roadtrips to Wendover, Colorado, Vegas, St George..it was always a party. I don't think any of us went to bed before 1:00 am.

I love reminiscing. Here's an old picure of my cute roommates.
St George--Spring Break
Can you pick out Justin? Woo woo, what a hottie. Now you understand the angst I went through earlier that year :)

So here's a shoutout to my alma mater, USU. My mom, all my sisters and their husbands have attended USU. Maybe Abbey will one day as well. Thanks for the game day t-shirt, Aunt Megs! We were sporting aggie blue today in support of your b-ball tryouts, good luck! We're so proud of our little 'baller' sister. Is that how you spell 'baller'? I'm so not hip.

Bust your A to WIN--

Appropriate for a toddler, don't you think? I love it.

AHH, GOOD TIMES! Perfect post Ash. I honestly think college was one of the best times of my life. We had so much fun. My grades can vouch for that a little:) I miss those days at times. I laughed sooo hard at Banners face in that picture. It looks as though he's concentrating on flexing his muscles. lol

And tell me why I didn't go on Spring Break with all of you? Oh yeah, thats right.. I chose to WORK instead so I wouldn't get "fired." Lamo! Kyler and I were such loners that whole week--wishing we had gone. Oh, and that picture does do Justin justice (tongue twister:)), but who's that HOTTIE to his left? His wife is one lucky momma :) lol

And why weren't you on the Colorado trip? Oh yeah, Mexico. I don't feel bad for you on that one :) Hottie husbands indeed. We are lucky girls.

I totally agree about loving school, especially college and freedom! I too don't remember going to bed before 1:00 am, and I was the geek that had an 8:00 am class as a freshman! Also, nice job on the hubby, the second girl from the left with the white tank top can't even take her eyes off him for the picture, haha!!! And the second girl from the right is not too shabby herself:)

I have to admit - there is this little piece of me that really missed moving to Logan this Fall. Or moving ANYWHERE, for that matter. I was cleaning out a closet - and I had some stuff in one of those big plastic bins we always moved our crap in, and it made me really pine for the first week of school. BUT attending class all summer sort of soured me on the back-to-class idea, so the classes I can live without for a few months. I'm glad you're displaying your Aggie pride via your toddler's back :)

Why is my husbands arms around Tearsa & Kristen? Did he not know I just lived on the other side of Pineview and was waiting for him to come sweep me off my feet? That apt full of boys was a lucky crowd. They had all the girls on that whole floor wrapped around their lil' finger. Good thing your apt claimed dibs on them before any others. They turned out pretty cool, plus they added me a fantastic bonus, My hot husband John.

Barbs, I thought you might like that picture :) It's so funny how many of us ended up getting married. I'm so glad you and John ended up together, too bad he didn't muster the courage sooner!

yeah Barbs, I agree with Ash on "muster up the courage sooner.." John always thought you were gorgeous, but was prob just too chicken to ask you out :) I laugh at the huge "love triangle" that was going on with everyone in Pineview that year.

oh my goodness what happened to that geeky boy in the red trunks by the pool (in the movie get it).... what a stud he turned out to be just kidding.. cute pictures you havent changed a bit..

Love triangles? Seriously! Throw in Kyler, Randy, Alanna, and Brooke and there were like six. And they were more like love pentagons! I like to think we all came out of it as friends, though. Right?

And Pattie's referring to my husband's first-rate acting career as an extra in The Sandlot. Ha ha, so cute.

I LOVE Abbey's Aggie shirt. I have been online lately pricing out BYU shirts for Benjamin. I really want a BYU shirt for him to wear when we get together for the BYU football games. :) Train the kids to be fans with you - that's the idea. :)

Yeah, Justin totally has this "I'm way to sexy for you, don't even think about it" attitude on. I can totally understand. I probably would have crushed too. :) I didn't think guys like that ended up being great husbands, but they do! (Lucky for us!)
It's been getting crispy in the air this week here too. It's exciting. I'm even doing a painting about going back to school. It's kind of nerdy and I don't know if anyone will be interested in it, but it sort of symbolizes the anticipation in the air. Great post!
